The first weekend also means two full days in Addis Ababa for the first time. Since it gets dark soon after work, I haven't seen much of the city yet.
So I took a long walk through the city and hiked up the Yeka Mountain Peak, which offers a great view of Addis. Luckily, I didn't encounter any wild animals, although leopards and a jaguar have reportedly been spotted here. There are also hyenas...
Thanks to its altitude of +/- 2400 meters above sea level, the temperature here is pleasant. It's around 25°C in the afternoon and cools down to about 10°C at night.
Now I'm looking forward to the next 50 days: tomorrow marks the start of the fasting period, which means no animal products will be consumed.
