In the morning, the children woke up too early, but the hearty breakfast helped us get going.
Afterwards, we actually set off on a little hike above the alpine pasture. The temperatures had climbed back into the high summer range and with the youngest in the baby carrier on my chest, we soon started sweating. When larger clouds also appeared in the sky, we made our way back down.
However, we made it to the new summit cross. The Plannersee, on the other hand, remained unattainable this time.
At noon, we continued towards Slovenia via Donnersbach.
There was no traffic jam at the border area and we passed through the Karawanken Tunnel without further delay. Nevertheless, it took us almost four hours to reach our second stop, Cerklje na Gorenjskem.
The guesthouse we had booked on the internet was located high up on a mountain, from which we had a magnificent view of the approaching thunderstorm. It was pouring down in the valley, while not a single drop fell where we were.
I would describe our accommodation as rustic and simple. Lots of wood, thin walls, and uncomfortable beds...
