Balkan Day 8 - A Day Full of Singing

Today, we started at 10:00 am with a rehearsal with a girls' choir. We would perform a concert with them in the evening. The rehearsal took place in a Catholic church. We rehearsed two pieces with the girls' choir, one Albanian and then Va pensiero from our side. This choir was also very advanced vocally. Just like the university choir we had met yesterday, some of the singers had proper opera voices, which amazed us, considering that the girls were only between 13-18 years old. When we rehearsed our pieces for the evening concert, Albanian television was also present. They filmed some of our performances and interviewed Mr. Kammel.

We spent the afternoon at the youth hostel, enjoying homemade pasta and the lovely sunny weather. In the evening, after taking another group photo in front of our youth hostel in concert attire, we went to the concert, which was already quite sweaty :) In the church, we first listened to the girls' choir, who performed traditional Albanian songs as well as some German songs. After our mainly spiritual program, we performed the pieces we had rehearsed together with the girls' choir.

To conclude the evening, we all went to a restaurant and had dinner together. During the dancing afterwards, the ice was completely broken and it was a truly beautiful end to this day.
