Looking for a place to stay - Cotopaxi

已发表: 08.03.2024

So we fled the city to escape the horror and rented a place on a farm for three nights. The children were able to play in tree houses, jump on the trampoline, ride the cable car and feed the animals. Márton could work and for me there was a sauna and a jacuzzi. They were beautiful, calm, if a little cold and rainy days. We, the children and I, also went horseback riding and even took a walk with huge pigs. Shortly after our arrival, Inka, a black, sweet dog, decided that he didn't want to leave our side anymore. In between, Anikó could also do something for school and so the days went by far too quickly, even though we were woken up every morning by a cheeky bird at the window. On our drive to Baños, our next, hopefully warmer destination, we made a detour to the Cotopaxi National Park. We drove the car up to over 4000m and then climbed the last part to a hut at around 4800m. It was very foggy, cold and tiring, but when the children saw snow, all that was forgotten. They had a snowball fight, within their means of course, and were blissful. In between, a lot of clouds cleared and we could at least almost see the Cotopaxi volcano. When we arrived at the hut we ate huge beans and a really tasty soup and then started the descent. On our way back we passed a beautiful lagoon, which we only visited very briefly due to heavy rain. Then we really went on to Baños. We really liked the idea of a hot bath and getting soaked, even if the hot springs still had to wait a bit for us.
