After breakfast that day, I helped my mom do the dishes while dad got the RV ready and my brothers played soccer. Then we drove south. Our first stop was at some nameless local museum where we went to the bathroom. We reached Lyon at half past two. That means we parked in a suburb of Lyon and then cycled the remaining 6km into the city.
Well, suburbia is suburbia, it doesn't get any nicer, but Lyon itself is awesome. I fell in love with the city last time we visited Berching's French sister city Savigny and it's still great. All full of old, well-preserved houses, squares, statues, trees and, above all, flowers. We had lunch at the only place where Dad understood the menu selection (a McDonalds) and then explored the city by bike. I even recognized two places! We were taking photos of a statue when suddenly a complete stranger stood next to us in the family photo. That was funny. We looked for bookstores because I wanted to buy French books.
Then we cycled back. Past about 6 bridges, along the Rhône. We stopped at a supermarket and bought the craziest water ever. It's called Vichy and tastes like earth. And I had to ride 7.5kg of it around on my bike! The rest of the way to the motorhome was terrible because it was always along the main road. We then drove a little further in the motorhome and stopped in the middle of nowhere.
