I have to get through the typhoon!

The typhoon finally moved on overnight, and the day began with a beautiful sunrise. Bathed in sunlight, the accommodation seemed even more lovely; for example, we noticed the garden in front of the tea room for the first time. After breakfast, we went for a short walk and visited two shrines on a nearby hillside. Afterward, we wanted to go to a park right by the river. On the way, we passed several rice paddies that were now underwater, as well as some parking lots and parts of the park itself, which had overflowed its banks and were flowing very quickly. A little further on, a road was also flooded—no wonder, since it lay between a rice field and the river. We also encountered the fire department, who were doing their best to clear the roads with small flatbed trucks equipped with pumps. The town had escaped relatively unscathed. Much further west, the heavy rain had caused extensive damage. Marei's health had unfortunately also suffered. While I had a slight cold before the flight, which has since cleared up, Marei was suffering from a sore throat. Therefore, she continued to rest so that she would be fit for the trip to Kyoto. Martin
