Day 1
We landed safely and now we need to take the airport tram to the car rental center after picking up our luggage. On the way to our first accommodation, we pass by two beaches.
From our balcony, we have a beautiful view of the ocean.
Day 2
Right after breakfast, we start our first tour, the Waihee Ridge Trail. Since we are early, we are lucky to enjoy the ascent to the summit with stunning views of the coastline and the canyon.
In the afternoon, we drive up to 3055 meters to the summit of Haleakalā volcano. The name Haleakalā means "House of the Sun" in German and is associated with the legend that the demigod Māui captured the sun there. The sunset above the clouds is overwhelming.
Day 3
After breakfast with a view of the ocean, we stroll through Lāhainā. The lively town with its many small shops is perfect for shopping and chilling. In the city center, stands the largest Banyan tree in Hawaii. The proportions are gigantic.
We drive along the northwest coast to Napili Bay. While snorkeling, we can admire the many colorful fish and sea turtles. We enjoy the sunset at Kahekili Beach
Day 4
The Road to Hāna is one of the most beautiful routes in Hawaii. We take the whole day to drive along the winding road through the rainforest area, with its many waterfalls and breathtaking views of the north coast.
Day 5
Part 2: Road to Hāna.
The landscape is so impressive that today we drive a further stretch of the 'Road to Hāna.' We swim in the pool under the waterfalls, observe turtles, take a few small hikes, and enjoy this unique nature.
Day 6
Our Hawaii trip is coming to an end. We drive a part of the Road to Hāna again to get to the other side of the island near the airport. We have spent three wonderful weeks on three islands. With unforgettable impressions and the happiness of being able to experience it all, we spend one last evening with a sunset on the beach.
The shaka sign - the unmistakable thumbs up greeting - is the ultimate symbol of Aloha and Hawaiian culture. The sign, which can be interpreted as 'hang loose' or 'right on,' is a constant reminder that it is not the norm to worry or be in a hurry in Hawaii. The shaka symbol represents the 'island style.' It signals that everything is okay.
