Today we followed a recommendation from our friends to visit Stawamus Chief Provincial Park in Squamish. Despite a large parking lot, we left early and had breakfast in our camper there.
We started well-equipped with water and food for our ascent on the Stawamus Chief First Peak Trail, about 4 km - 535 m elevation gain - our most challenging hike so far! The view was spectacular - high up on the mountain directly above the waters of Howe Sound and the town of Squamish. Incredible! We spent some time at the peak, having a picnic and enjoying the sun.
In the afternoon on our way back to the campground, we made a stop at Brandywine Falls - a 70-meter waterfall surrounded by lava rocks.
Back at the campground, we started packing our bags since we have to return our camper in Vancouver tomorrow - how quickly time has passed. Last night in the camper at the Whistler Campground.
