It's time to say goodbye :-(

The last three summer harvest days were quite eventful. However, the final day offered a wonderful view over a new valley. On our way there, we drove through tobacco fields, which are part of the local income opportunities. But since these fields are rather small and the harvest is mostly manual, it is likely similar to olives ... you can't get rich from that.

We really enjoyed this last day because of the enchanting view and the tranquility. It had a meditative quality. Additionally, we wandered around the house that was for sale. The helper couple had been looking for a suitable property for weeks, weighing the pros and cons. I enjoyed just listening.

Yesterday, our yield was taken to the mill again... from 430 kg of olives, we got 44 kg of oil. Then we passed through Gubbio again. This time the town was quite crowded. The Italians were enjoying the holiday, the beautiful weather, and the truffle festival, which was less of a festival and more about pure marketing. It's crazy how much money you can spend on truffles. We preferred to dive into the cappuccino instead. It was delicious, too. However, our host is reconsidering his business model... Trudi is being trained as a truffle dog!

For the farewell today, we had homemade pizza, topped to our own liking. It was so delicious; everyone gathered around a large table in the garden, and the view ... simply breathtaking. I would like to save this view as my mental background image for my morning start screen. I really enjoyed these days in Umbria - a fantastic experience!!! Would love to do it again!!!

However, it is now time to set off. It's really hard for me ... and Cattolica on the Adriatic (my next destination) was just a nice idea; it turned out to be a 70s cliché beach resort... oh no. Just have to get away from here quickly.
