Back in Chiang Mai

已发表: 03.12.2018

Rebekka and I started off Sunday with a little breakfast hike to the White Buddha and a great breakfast with black rice porridge with fruit and a waffle with nuts and chocolate sauce. The perfect end before we took the mini shuttle back to Chiang Mai. My conclusion about Pai, I wasn't really open to truly feel the place. But it's worth visiting it, doing a scooter tour, and for those who want, trying the Magic Mushrooms. I had an interesting conversation with a Canadian guy we had dinner with only once. I could understand his way of living and it gave me something to think about.

Back in Chiang Mai, the preparations for the big night market in the old town were waiting for us. We went to my hostel to cool off a bit from the oppressive heat. After Rebekka finally booked, checked in, and printed her flights, we walked around the market, eating a little here, eating a little there. A short break between meals for a massage and back to the stands. For the market, 3-4 main roads in Chiang Mai are completely closed to vehicles, and there are crowds of people in the streets and in the restaurants on the edge. A true spectacle and for me, it's nicer to watch from the outside than to be pushed around in the crowd.

What I haven't mentioned yet about Chiang Mai, there are more one-way streets than in Mannheim :-D unbelievable. On the bike, I feel very much reminded of home.

In the evening, I said goodbye to Rebekka, she went to the airport and started her journey to the south. With many stops in Bangkok, Phuket, and Kho Phi Phi, until she can enjoy the sea and hopefully the sun on Koh Lanta. The 3 days were great fun and very entertaining. Looking forward to seeing her again next year.

On Monday, everyday life was back on. Wake up at 8:30, have breakfast. Ride the bike to the Vinyasa Yoga class with a very good teacher, which reminded me of home. Stop by the temple briefly on the way. Then lunch and a nap. In the evening, we went to one of the most famous temples in Chiang Mai, the Silver Temple. However, it was a bit disappointing because it was very small and looked better in the pictures.

It looks like it will continue in this rhythm the whole week. That's why I will write again when there is something unusual to report.

Greetings to everyone
