It's 8:30 am, we're standing at the train station in Charlottesville saying goodbye to Mary with a heavy heart. Mary is the person who has let us stay with her for the past three weeks, who has turned her friends into our friends, and who has given us a bit of home. She is a good friend from old times. Charlottesville is a very young college town with lots of greenery, bars, and restaurants, and is known for its large and architecturally impressive university. The time here has been incredible. With our new and old friends, we have fully enjoyed every day here. We played basketball, baked brownies, had movie nights, went swimming in the river, visited Richmond and Washington D.C., and on Sunday, we watched polo at a vineyard picnic under the big oak tree. But above all, we had many very funny evenings with card games, parties, and, as is usual in a college town during the summer holidays, alcohol! All in all, we had three weeks of travel time here. Experience instead of just seeing (which is why there aren't many photos). Next stop: Washington D.C.
