Landed in Miami last night🇺🇸🇺🇸

Due to Corona, here in the plane too, the rows are called to stand up and leave the airplane. Unfortunately, it doesn't work at all🤦‍♀️Everyone jumps up at once. 😂 However, immigration is faster than usual. No one wants to see any of the felt 100 documents that I uploaded in advance.

Already at the airport it is clear that the Americans don't really understand the face mask. Either it hangs under the nose or there is none at all.

Luggage and rental car go smoothly (next to us a German tries to rent a car with a debit card...I'm afraid he has to take the bus on vacation)

Off to Miami Beach. Our hotel is within sight of the beach. The room is so-so....but that's what you know in the USA. 

But the beach is even more beautiful.

We still stock up on the necessities at the supermarket and then get some well-deserved sleep😴

Of course, we wake up at 4am. Let's see if we can get breakfast anywhere.

We find a bakery that opens at 6am and has delicious croissants and coffee. Equipped like this, we go to the beach to have breakfast at sunrise.

There is already Christmas lights here🎄🎄 

We see a sensational sunrise.     

Today we will explore Miami Beach by bike. For this, we have to download an app from Citibike and can rent a bike at the many rental stations here. This doesn't work right away because we can't get the bikes out of the holder, but eventually it works.

We drive south along the beach. There is a pedestrian and bike path here all the way to South Beach.

The colorful lifeguard huts are a real eye-catcher. 

Ocean Drive and the Art Deco buildings are quiet during the day but worth seeing.

We also drive north to Surfside, but the bike path ends in that direction. After 30 km we return the bikes and relax on the beach.

 The weather could be better, but at least it's warm and dry.

We don't have a sunset today......

......But we have delicious burgers 🍔
