The day the sun influenced my mind. There's no other way I can explain how I ended up on a bike 😅
The hotel seems to be very bike-loving. At breakfast there are even bicycle napkins. Somehow I got into conversation with my neighbors from the Netherlands. They really seem to be everywhere. They had booked a bike tour at the hotel for 2 p.m. (Bangkok local time, in Germany that would be 9 a.m.). Would I be there too? My egg almost stuck in my throat because I was laughing so hard. I was then seriously asked if I was afraid of it 😅... somehow I said yes. I say yes, it's the heat and the humidity.
I went into the city first, by subway of course. A day ticket costs the equivalent of 4 euros and when I gave it to a Thai in the evening, he bowed and thanked me at least ten times.
The city, like any big city, was very crowded. I didn't find any postcards and that's really annoying. In a metropolis like Bangkok there seem to be none left.
The bike tour started at 2 p.m. sharp and what can I say? It was just very, very funny and a lot of fun. Naantje and Peer; the Dutch, were very entertaining. We drove through many backyards, saw hidden and real places. Far away from tourism. Went to the temple and meditated. I now know the sitting postures for male, female and diverse. It's hard to believe that Buddhists are more cosmopolitan than you think. You always have to caress the big belly of the gods, it brings health and a long life.
The world's largest Buddha statue is located at Wat Trai Witthayaram. In fact, it's hard to miss them. Here too we paused briefly.
We continued downstream to a market. It's really good that you can't transfer smells. These fish... it's killing me. After 2.5 hours we were back and it was just beautiful.
