Last night the rain started and unfortunately it came back after a break. For breakfast, we sat under the roof of an uninhabited holiday cottage.
At least we were able to finish packing our things and pack up the tent - which was of course soaking wet - during a break in the rain. This made us 1 hour later than usual getting off the campsite, and then it was time to ride in the rain, 30 km to the next ferry, in between also buying groceries. At least it didn't rain continuously, but then the question arises: sweat with a rain jacket or freeze without one, and it can start again at any moment.
Behind the ferry there was a mini café, where the strawberry cake shown in the picture was available. At our lunch picnic a few kilometers further, also by the water, we experienced some Swedish midsummer: a family/part of a large family? goes swimming - weather doesn't matter... The elderly couple who had just been walking a dog plays the accordion on the park bench... The Swedes celebrate midsummer on the first weekend after June 21st.
We're making good progress, the hills are mostly comparable to yesterday's. Since the campsites near Nyköping are not on our route or would mean too much detour, we booked an inexpensive hotel for lunch and landed at Nyköping airport. A good chance to get everything dry again!
