From April 22-24, I started the sailing tour through the Whitsundays with the ship 'Tongarra'. When we arrived, we were surprised to find that there were 23 girls and one boy, who took the whole thing with humor and felt comfortable. Even the crew said they had rarely experienced something like this! We set sail and I must say, it took some getting used to the rocking motion. As a precaution, almost everyone took a travel tablet, just in case. We let the sun shine on our bellies and enjoyed the breeze.
On the ship, we were really spoiled when it came to food, it was freshly cooked and there was enough for everyone. On the first evening, we had grilled fish, mashed potatoes, and salad. The highlight was sleeping on the deck, covered by the starry sky, until we had to set up the tent because the rain came. But it was still a highlight and the waking up! It has something incredibly calming to wake up somewhere on the water and have breakfast with a sea view. An indescribable feeling that I already miss and I can only recommend to everyone to go on a multi-day boat tour.
On the second day, we went to Whitehaven Beach, which is still white despite the cyclone yay!
Unfortunately, we had occasional rain showers there, but you can't control the weather. In the afternoon, we went snorkeling, but scaredy-cat Charlotte preferred to stay on land and help herself to the cake buffet :P
But everyone told me that I didn't miss anything, so I made the right decision! I saw the same fish from the boat as from the water :P
Soon it was time for dinner again: garlic bread and spaghetti bolognese. Afterwards, we celebrated our last evening a little bit!
We had a wonderful time together, but we also looked forward to a normal toilet and a shower and not a wet room :D But that's part of an adventure, that's why we're here, to forgo the usual luxury and simply enjoy the scenery, nature, and conversations, whether with or without makeup, showered or not showered! Just ENJOY!
