On November 9th we continued to the small island of Con Dao. With a small, bumpy propeller plane✈️ we landed at the insanely large airport of Con Dao. It is so big that there is only one luggage belt and exactly two check-in counters. So, before you're in, you're actually out again!😂
We drove through lush greenery, virtually untouched jungle, met a family of monkeys on the road and only three vehicles seemed to come towards us until we reached Con Dao Town.
A really small island paradise.
Oh yes… but not always! This island was still a prison island until 1975. There are three prisons here, which are now museums.
During wartime, the French and then the Americans held prisons here in which “insurgents”, those who were politically persecuted and many more were imprisoned.
People were held in an undignified manner, tortured and many did not survive. It wasn't easy to explain all this to the big guy. But unfortunately that is also part of humanity.😪
Otherwise we enjoyed the wonderfully beautiful beaches.🏖️🌊🐚 The little one thought breading baby was super fun.😂
It also worked well with the fine, powdery sand.
The delicious food at Madame Ha was awesome
and the night market was full of fresh fish.🐟
So fish lovers would definitely get their money's worth.
We had a super relaxing time on the island before we left on November 15th. Should continue on to Ho Chi Minh City for our last days in Vietnam.
