The following story is dedicated to my friend Nik, who has been bugging me to be mentioned in the blog since the beginning. Well, these are your 15 minutes of fame, enjoy it, and then be quiet! This is Victor. Victor lives with the Schürlimann family in a beautiful single-family house in Thurgau. Victor is in excellent health, even though he has gained a little weight, because he gets fresh organic salad from the farm next door every day, and Mrs. Schürlimann regularly cleans the little pellets out of his cage and fills it with fresh scented litter. When the others are all sitting in the garden, Victor is allowed to join them, and he prefers to sit in the sun on his favorite tree stump. But as life goes, Victor is no longer there one day. The vet diagnoses a natural death, and the whole Schürlimann family agrees that even in death, Victor still had a smile on his face. Without a doubt. Victor was, or rather, probably the happiest guinea pig in the world. Raoul is a proud Peruvian. He is proud of his country, his heritage, and his ancestors. Well, Raoul is content. He is well nourished, the Andes provide him with spring water and juicy meadow herbs. Raoul lives in freedom. He hops over streams and meadows every day, but in his heart, he knows that his days are numbered. Because Raoul has a problem....He tastes good. Raoul accepted shortly after his birth that he would end up as a meal because as a proud Peruvian Cuy, he believes in the afterlife in old Inca tradition. And as painful as every bite may be. Knowing that Raoul's proud spirit lives on in all Cuys, I thank Raoul for his tasty meat. Thank you Raoul!....Thank You!! [/uploads/a55b5e90-0120-11e8-a4c6-f719d2052e43.JPG_large.jpg]
