Okay, now I finally have time to write something. Where do I start...
For the first half, we traveled around Ontario. Three nights in Toronto, then off on our first road trip: Algonquin Provincial Park, Ottawa, Montreal, and back to Toronto. Then another two nights in Toronto and an early flight to Halifax, Nova Scotia.
In the second half of the time, we explored the beautiful province of Nova Scotia. After two nights in Halifax, we embarked on our second road trip: Lunenburg (with a stop at Peggy's Cove), Kejimkujik National Park, Truro, Margaree Forks, the Cabot Trail around Cape Breton Peninsula, a detour to Meat Cove, Sydney, and then back to Halifax as close as possible since we had a deadline at 12 o'clock on day 7. Then another two nights in Halifax and it was time to say goodbye.
It was an amazing first three weeks. We saw a lot, met many nice people (even if it was just a few minutes of small talk in the store), and got a feel for the country without being thrown into the deep end with apartment and job hunting right away. Thank you for that, Jil!!! :) :*
Now, the real challenge begins and it's time to find a place (or room) to stay and a job. I've decided to stay here in Halifax for now and work and save money until the end of the year.
After Jil flew back to Germany, I stayed at the hostel in Halifax (and I'm still here) and was/are able to work four hours a day as a volunteer at the hostel, so I didn't have to pay for my bed. But I can't continue like this forever, others also want to take advantage of this opportunity. But tomorrow I already have the first room viewing, I'm excited...
