Last night we had the heating on for the first time and even Juliane found it pleasantly warm - this has to be mentioned here because it's a rarity ;)
The morning started early, cold and somewhat foggy - the perfect weather for bird sightings, when most have already flown to warmer areas and only a few swans, herons, and unidentified diving birds dare to put their feet in the icy water.
After a good breakfast - as creative as always: muesli - we continued northwards. Always passing fjords and lakes, with some - cough cough Dad - seemingly unable to tell sweet from salt water and huge mountains, tiny villages, and regular moose signs. The actual goal of our journey today: the hole in the mountain in Torghatten welcomed us with bright sunshine and a steep ascent, but the effort was definitely worth it, even though we still need to improve our proper shoes for such hikes - in both directions the view was fantastic: mountains, skerries, sea. Afterwards, we had to scrub a few more kilometers. We stopped at Tosen Fjord, at a spot right on the edge. The view is breathtaking, the departure will be terrifying ;) We somehow have to turn around, preferably right now, and then take a steep, narrow, and unpaved road back to the street. It will be exciting!
