Day 10: LAZADA – Online Shopping in Thailand

What do you do on the beach other than splashing around in the warm sea, maybe doing a little snorkeling, lying around, sipping cocktails and eating one or two snacks?

Exactly, surf the Internet on your cell phone. And what could be nicer than doing a little shopping while you're at it? And LAZADA is best suited for this. LAZADA is an online trading platform, similar to AMAZON . LAZADA itself does not send any goods, but only provides the trading platform for many retailers.

LAZADA is Alibaba's most popular marketplace among Southeast Asian customers and was purchased by ALIBABA , a giant Chinese retail group, in 2016 with the aim of managing Southeast Asia's e-commerce through a single portal.

We had already gotten to know LAZADA during our stay in Thailand last year and ordered a lot back then.

The whole thing works relatively easily: download the app (or use the browser version), set the language to “English” and off you go.

There is actually everything you can imagine at LAZADA . However, you should make sure that you do not exceed your permitted luggage weight on the flight home.

This year it was NFL shirts (THB 249/€6.60 per piece) and caps (THB 227/€6 per piece) from the Minnesota Vikings (which are also very good for visits to Vienna Vikings can be used) and a few shirts for me, as well as one or two handbags for Daniela. 😊

When choosing clothing sizes, you should make sure that they are Asian sizes. So definitely order 1-2 sizes larger. There is often a size chart included in the description, which is very helpful. You also have to make sure that, in addition to the right size, you also click on the right variant of your chosen product. But can be easily checked in the shopping cart.

Of course, you have to be aware that the things are usually not original brands, but the quality is still quite good (if you don't choose the cheapest thing).

Put the whole thing in the virtual shopping cart, pay for it using the WISE card (more on that soon) and the order is sent.

Delivery time for goods from Thailand is 1-3 days, from China 1-2 weeks. The delivery times are always stated in the offer. Unfortunately it is not possible to deliver to Europe at the moment, so you simply provide your current holiday address. Deliveries are made by local parcel services.
