Today we had two short hikes planned, to get us in the mood. No. 1 took us from the Eira do Serrado viewpoint down into the Nuns Valley. We had to leave early, as a bus back to the car park was only possible at two acceptable times for us. The return journey by bus was also interesting, as our bus met another bus at a place where there was only space for one. It's impressive what bus drivers have to do here every day. The second tour took us to the balcony of Ribeiro Frio. In between there was a narrow panoramic road with beautiful views. It was a long, steep and narrow climb. The car was already reaching its limits. If there aren't enough parking spaces, we park on the side of the road, which turns a narrow two-lane road into a single-lane one. Space is often in short supply...
