The first stop has been reached. Wake up call was at 3 a.m. The plane to Lisbon left at 6:05 a.m. We had a layover there for about 5 hours. So we were able to have breakfast in peace and there was still time for a bit of shopping. We finally arrived at 3:30 p.m. We picked up the rental car, filled up the tank and headed to the Pestana Churchill Bay hotel in Camara de Lobos (west of Funchal). Churchill was actually here (to paint), looked for a parking space, checked in, then a little tour of the town with shopping and the first wash. And there was still preparation for tomorrow. But now it's free time.
