Day 7 - from Hannover to Minden

This morning, Dirk and I went shopping as our supplies were running low. We also bought fresh rolls for breakfast. Meanwhile, Michael slept in and we ended up leaving late. Today, we are going from Hannover through smaller towns in Lower Saxony to Minden in Westphalia. Rosa and Oskar came by to say goodbye. The route is rather uneventful and we didn't encounter any major issues. The crossing of the Weser River on a canal bridge just before Minden was quite spectacular. We arrived in Minden around 4:00 pm, but there was no marina and no services available. Our Polish captain with his self-built houseboat also arrived later. We walked through Minden to the train station, as Dirk had to go home to work. The weather was awful, but Michael and I wanted to have dinner, so we went to a Café Extrablatt. However, they required a COVID test, so we took one at the drive-in test center. As pedestrians, we were able to get tested right away, and then a heavy rain shower started. A friendly student gave us a ride from the test center to the town, and after an hour of waiting for the test results, we were allowed to eat in the cold weather. Afterward, we returned to the boat, somewhat dry, and went to bed relatively early for our standards.
