Preparation and Travel

Hello dear family, friends and acquaintances!

As promised, we will keep you updated with our travel blog so that you can also participate in our adventure.

We are already in San Francisco, after a tiring 30-hour journey we have finally arrived and checked into our hostel. The flights went relatively smoothly even though we had to change planes twice (Frankfurt, Las Vegas). But we were also lucky that we asked in Las Vegas if we had to check in our luggage again, which we had to do, even though the tickets said that the luggage would go to our final destination. I would say luck favors the prepared :)

We landed in SFO at around 5:00 PM and took the subway (BART) to our accommodation. Check-in was easy and the rooms are quite OK (2 beds in a mixed 6-person dormitory). After that, we took a stroll through the city and satisfied our hunger at a classic American diner (everything fried). The food, as well as the accommodation, is very expensive here. We paid a whopping $40 for a portion of fries with chili and cheese, a mixed fried plate (listed as an appetizer), and two drinks. But it was sufficient and delicious :)

That was our first day and we will be back soon :D
