As one can only enter Greece with proof of Covid vaccination or a negative PCR test, this was the first border with extensive controls after a long time - and therefore almost 3 hours of waiting time!
In Thessaloniki we are staying in a perfect little house, relatively central and yet very relaxed in a small alley.
Thessaloniki is diverse and interesting, the majority of the city consists of steep, narrow alleys (not so easy when the temperatures still exceed 30°C in the evening),
many colorful corners and houses,
everywhere you come across the old city wall
and in contrast, the beach promenade is modern and lined with expensive shops and restaurants.
We enjoy delicious Greek food,
we are happy about a city full of kittens,
we cool down during the first heavy rain in weeks
and we have a good time!
Finally, 3 quick questions for Ronny:
1. What do you miss after 10 weeks of traveling? - 'My children. Greetings to Burger, Jeremy-Pascal and the others.'
2. When are we starting and learning Arabic? - 'That...according to my knowledge...is immediate. Without delay. (Probably never)'
3. Why do you play chess so poorly? :) - 'I find this question offensive. I am a good chess player and sometimes I get lost in moves that I can no longer comprehend in the end. Outrageous.'
