Day 3 Helsinki - Oulu

The ferry arrived in Helsinki on time at 9:00 am. It's another beautiful day with azure blue sky.

Just before that, I was able to get some impressions of the archipelago. It's incredible, the number of islands. Sometimes the ferry passes just a few meters away from these islands.

After a small breakfast, I head to the machine, it should actually be "cast off" the moment I release the tension straps. All luggage stowed away, the excitement rises, I start the engine and off we go. A bit of curving and I'm already out of the harbor area, and the preprogrammed signpost shows me the way. As mentioned yesterday, I plan to make it to Jyväskylä today.

When I looked at the route again yesterday evening, I found out that Lahti is almost on the way. As a winter sports enthusiast, that's of course a term I know, the most famous ski jumping facility in Finland. I had to take a look at that.

Finland, the land of a thousand lakes, so true. With the great weather, the lakes shine in such an intense blue, I almost have to force myself not to jump into each one.

When I arrived in Jyväskylä around 1:00 pm, I didn't feel like parking the motorcycle already. So I decided to continue towards Oulu. Said and done, I drove and drove and enjoyed the day, the air, and nature. If my backside hadn't painfully reminded me that sometimes it has to end, I think I would still be sitting on the bike today. So that was the end of today's route at the camping site "Montta Active Camping" after 600km and just before Oulu.

There, I was given the key to a small wooden cabin, it was right by the river. A cool beer, what an idyll.
