Day 4 Oulu - Inari

MIVOAKA: 19.08.2020

What a horror, I don't think I'll become a real camper. After a restless night in an uncomfortable bed, I had enough at 7:00 am, got up, walked the 100m to the sanitary facilities, brushed my teeth, showered, and did what you do in the morning.

My motorcycle also needed a little fly removal treatment, not to mention my helmet.

Afterwards, I packed my "seven things" and left after a coffee at the reception. Of course, I paid in advance.

My minimum goal today was Rovaniemi, the city right on the Arctic Circle. Oh yes, Santa Claus also lives there!

Once again, I arrived at 1:00 pm in beautiful weather.

I parked my bike on a parking lot with a ticket machine on the side without getting a ticket and went for a coffee. When I returned half an hour later, a suspicious little note was already stuck to my seat bench. Unfortunately, it was not from Santa Claus. A fine! 50 euros! I can't believe it. After I had asked one or two innocent Finns who were passing by if everything was still okay with them, the order man came around the corner. Whoever read my day 1 understands the parallel. I went straight to him, put on my most innocent face and asked him if this note was from him, which he confirmed after a careful look at it. Long story short, he showed mercy and deleted the notification after I told him that I would leave the city right away. Just like in the Wild West... So my onward journey was decided.

Since Santa's Village and the Arctic Circle were on the way, I had to make another quick stop.

Yes, I would repeat myself constantly, the landscape is really impressive. Meanwhile, I have also encountered the first moose on the way. Endless forests and countless lakes, that's how it continued to today's final destination after 550km "Wilderness Hotel Inari". Located on the beautiful Inari Lake and not overpaid with 99 euros including breakfast. After 2 nights in a ferry cabin and one night at the campsite, my back will thank me.

After the first rain shower since my departure, I still have to take a picture of the lake for you. Awesome!
