Port Barton (Philippines) my paradise in Palawan

MIVOAKA: 03.06.2016

Ok, El Nido and Nacpan were done. To fully convince myself of Palawan and a possible return, we spent our last days in Port Barton. It's about a three-hour drive from El Nido and eventually turns off on an unpaved road near San Vicente. The last kilometers go through the jungle, you can literally pick bananas out of the window. But wait, even here the construction workers are busy.... the road is being built and will significantly change Port Barton... but for now it's still really beautiful!!!!

We stopped at the central bus station, in the middle of a dusty street, paid our tourism fee and set off to the northern end of Port Barton.

There, our Cassandra Cottages were waiting for us, the most beautiful and rustic resort during our vacation.

Bamboo hut with style, private garden, private key and note the wash basin for sandy paws from the beach. It was a dream, with great sunsets in front of the house

Once at sunset, once during the day

Port Barton is still so sleepy, the place has the ambiance of a 1950's holiday resort, there are only sandy paths, a few dogs, cats, and the like roaming around.

Surprisingly, the place seems to be a small refuge for Israelis, Australians, and Germans, Asians are no longer seen and even the yellow life vests have disappeared.

Here are a few pictures from the neighborhood

next-door neighbors - the famous sundowner was enjoyed here

So what do you do all day in Port Barton? Besides the obligatory sunbathing on the beach (Attention, sand fleas are also here), there are also various island hopping tours.

We decided to go out on the water again for a morning and snorkel with turtles. We visited the enchanting German Island. A mini island, about 40 minutes away from the town- my paradise..... and once again we more or less had it all to ourselves.

There is also a 90-minute hike from Port Barton to a waterfall, which we skipped due to the hot weather, maybe next time.

Our conclusion about Port Barton: Incredible vacation feeling, beautiful accommodations, nice atmosphere, only individual tourists, sufficient infrastructure, including 3-5 good restaurants.

However, it should be mentioned that after the completion of the road, the small, sweet place will awaken from its deep sleep....oh Port Barton, stay this way a little longer:
