Bad luck at Fox Glacier (NZL)

The Fox Glacier is another glacier located about 30 km from the Franz Josef Glacier. The Fox Glacier is one of the few glaciers that ends in the rainforest. I wanted to see that.

However, one day before my arrival, I found out that the hiking trail there is currently closed (and has been for a while).

Too bad, but near Fox Glacier Village there is another beautiful attraction - Lake Matheson. In this lake, Mt. Cook is reflected (in good weather). Of course, I also studied the weather forecast here and chose the period with the lowest probability of rain.

It is 6 km from the village to the lake, so I set off in cloudy but dry weather. Unfortunately, it started drizzling just before I reached the lake (and it didn't stop). I walked around the lake hoping it would get better - but the hope was in vain. Mt. Cook did not show itself :(

The best part of the trip was the cappuccino at the café there. Because it also rained on the way back.
