Well folks, the time has come. We come to my last entry. Our journey is coming to an end. Or rather, it's been over since Sunday. I actually intended to write this entry a little earlier, but somehow I ran out of time... and that as an unemployed person...
We have experienced a lot on our trip in the last few days. We visited a few more cities in Spain, it was almost a real city trip! We took a closer look at Valencia and Barcelona. Since David and I had already been to Barcelona before, we decided against any real sightseeing and focused mainly on the Sagrada family. We booked entry and were fascinated by this unique church. All I can say is that it is worth visiting once in your life.
Then there were a few kilometers ahead of us, which were easy to master as there was hardly any traffic. We took turns on the journey and enjoyed the last few days in our Bobby. It got cooler and cooler the further north we drove. We spent our last night in a hotel and were very happy about the heating. Nevertheless, the anticipation of being home grew. Even though it's hard to believe how quickly the time passed, it now felt right and good to start the journey home again. Looking forward to family and friends, to familiar surroundings, to everyday life, yes, even to work. David and I agree that sooner or later we just need real employment again. Everything is always good for a certain time and then something else has to happen. Which isn't to say that this was the last time. It feels very freeing to know that such travel breaks will appear again in our future. Why do we know this? Simply because we just want to take this time. Certainly not for a year or half a year, but for 2/3 months. Having more time to travel is just a great thing, traveling just gives me a lot. Well, that would definitely be my wish. So who knows :)
But now it's time to take a look! Looking for a job, looking for an apartment, my motivation to continue training in my profession has increased a lot. Work, work... But should I tell you something, I'm really looking forward to it. And then at some point we'll have a chance to have a little more time again, because America and Canada are high on our bucket list.
What do you think now? Olle has just come back and is already thinking about traveling again. Well guys, you know what always keeps you on your toes in life? ...... goals to have!
I would like to say a few words again about our trip. And that is THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
Thank you that we had no problems at all and were able to experience our trip the way we imagined.
That every flight worked as planned.
That we were able to sell our car well again in New Zealand.
That we had no health problems.
That we didn't have a breakdown and that our Bobby joined us without hesitation.
That we have not experienced any break-ins or other bad experiences in a country.
That we didn't even have any traffic jams.
That David and I always got along well.
Thank you for allowing us to have such a great and carefree time!
Thank you for being such diligent readers and listeners and for always supporting us mentally!
Thank you that we didn't run out of money. Here are a few more facts about it.
David and I had a total budget of 30,000 euros. (15k from me and 15k from him) we got along wonderfully with this budget. It was so good that we were able to burn another 7,000 euros, because in the end we only needed 23,000 euros for the whole 11 months.
Nevertheless, it is a large sum, but every cent for this trip was worth it to me. Some people buy an expensive car, but we expect it to last us 11 months. Considering that we only lived on these savings, we can pat ourselves on the back, we did pretty well! And you can see that you can get along well with little and travel really cheaply. Even to expensive countries like New Zealand, Australia and Norway. It could certainly be cheaper, but it was all wonderful for us.
So folks, that's it! That was 10 months of pure travel, 10 countries we were in, 20,000km we drove in total and over 10,000 beautiful moments we had.
We did it!!!!
And even though it's over now, one thing will always stay with me, the memory and my very personal development!
.... that was the hottest gap in my CV!
See you, cheeeeers!
