Perfectly signposted cycle paths lead through the Côte de Beaune - right through the vineyards and the many small but world-famous wine villages. We started in Santenay and arrived in Beaune after 20 kilometers of leisurely cycling, many photo stops and a short stop in Mersault. We then went back along the same route, although the views are never the same in the opposite direction. A special detail along the way - in addition to the numerous châteaus - are the countless dry stone walls, some of which have been painstakingly restored. Incidentally, contrary to our expectations, the grape harvest was largely completed by mid-September. Climate change is causing grapes to ripen earlier.
