Roadtrip Part 3 - From Mora to the South to Malmö

After leaving Mora towards Karlstad, we could observe the change in landscape with every driven kilometer.

Just a moment ago, we were driving through dense birch and spruce forests, passing countless lakes. Now, it was blooming rapeseed fields and green cow pastures that lined our way.

The temperatures also changed, and we were able to spend two days in the city of Karlstad with bright sunshine.

Afterwards, we continued to Gothenburg, Sweden's second largest city. Here, we celebrated Bianca's birthday with delicious burgers and explored the city extensively on foot.

In the botanical garden and the adjacent zoo, we enjoyed the warm sunshine after the cold in the north.

The last stop of our road trip was supposed to be the city of Malmö.

Here, we spent several days with two truly amazing people, Kevin and Natalie.

Kevin, originally from Hawaii, sold all of his belongings a few years ago and, like us, started his world travel adventure with just a backpack. During his journey, he then met Natalie in Thailand, who had previously studied in India. The two of them moved to Natalie's home country of Sweden two years ago.

The two of them and their cats, Nalu and Liko, warmly welcomed us into their apartment, gave us tips on what to see in the area, and we exchanged many of our travel experiences.

We spent a complete day in the dunes at a beautiful beach, and for the first time since our time in Bali, we both got a proper sunburn :)

However, the short dip in the Baltic Sea temperature-wise did not compare to Bali.

In the evening, we enjoyed a stunning sunset at the beach,

We also really liked the city center of Malmö, the proximity to the sea and the many green parks give the city a unique flair.

After 4,142 km, our road trip will end in Stockholm tomorrow.

Sweden has truly impressed us, and we couldn't have made a better decision than to come here.

The landscape, the wilderness, and above all the people here have once again shown us how diverse countries can be and that they often have more to offer than what one believes to know.

That's why we will spend another month here to experience the summer solstice, the Swedish Midsummer festival.

So greetings to not-so-far-away Germany and see you soon!
