Waiheke - Day trip to another world (05.08.17)

On 03.08.17, my friends Sabrina and Paddy arrived here in Auckland for their 4-month trip.

After a nice Friday evening together, we spontaneously decided to use Saturday for a day trip to Waiheke.

Still a little sleepy, we took the ferry at 9am in the morning. When we arrived after about 45 minutes of boat ride, the tiredness was quickly forgotten. The first impression of Waiheke was really beautiful. Juicy green meadows and beautiful blue sea and only scattered houses here and there on the mountainsides.

The port is located in Matiatia in the northwest of the island. We started our trip with a hike along the coast to Oneroa and from there on to Palm Beach.

From Palm Beach we took the bus to Rocky Bay in the south of the island, just to take the next track back to the north.

Arriving in Onetangi, we watched the beginning of the sunset from a mountain.

Our day slowly but surely came to an end and we took the bus back to the ferry. We saw the last rays of sunshine disappear before taking the boat back to Auckland at 6:30pm.
It was an unforgettable day for us. Thank you Sabrina and Paddy for being able to spend it together.♥️
