Tuesday was Lauren and Oli’s last day, and we spent it by the pool, down the beach and out for dinner. It was hot. That meant sun bathing for those seeking a tan, and hiding in the shade for those not (mainly me and the dogs).
We drove Lauren and Oli to the airport then went on in to Olbia for a wander and some dinner. It is actually a lovely town with lots of restaurants and a real buzz.
Wednesday was Laura, Sophie and Tommy’s last day and we spent it with more relaxing by the pool, getting a last bit of sun and generally finding everyone’s stuff. It’s amazing how much you spread out in a few days. We also did a bunch of washing, especially Jane and me, so we are set with a full, clean wardrobe for our onward journey.
Thursday was our last day and we did much the same. Walked Winnie (we’ve decided Betsy doesn’t need the heat and exertion), tidying the place and doing the last bits of washing before we leave. The villa has been fun, a lovely break from camping, but in truth both Jane and I cannot wait to be backing in the van, seeing new places.
We think we’ve found the next site, about half way across the top of Italy, a small, quiet countryside site with views that will be a good stop off on the way to Slovenia. We think we will take the advice of the Scottish couple about places to visit in Slovenia and start in the north, more mountains and countryside, before heading for the sea and working our way down the coast to Croatia.
