time to say goodbye!

The east coast of the North Island unfortunately had a lot of rain in store for us, so we had a very mixed time there. Due to the bad weather, we couldn't do much. However, the activities we did manage to do were very nice.

Since the weather was not going to improve in the future, we decided to sell Rogi as quickly as possible and soak up some sun in Bali.

So we headed to Auckland, where we met up with Judy. Her journey in New Zealand has just begun, and we exchanged experiences, tips, and stories. To our delight, Judy has also decided to take good care of Rogi and travel around New Zealand with him for the next 6 months.

We are relieved that we thought it would take a long time to find a new owner for Rogi. We wish Judy all the best on her journey and safe travels!

In addition, we visited our old travel mate Lorenz in Auckland's city center for a few beers to say goodbye. We had a great time together and experienced a lot. As a farewell gift, Lorenz brought us a delicious homemade bread.

Another highlight was meeting Delicia and Adrian, whom we helped remodel Rogi at the beginning of our journey. They always supported us with advice and assistance. We had a great barbecue evening with delicious meat and great side dishes. They were impressed by Domi's pictures and the stories we told them.

However, the most wonderful reunion was with Paul and his family. Paul approached us at the parking lot at the beginning of our journey and invited us for a cup of coffee. We then spent several days with him, working on Rogi's equipment.

At the end of our journey, Paul welcomed us back into his home, and we already feel like part of the family. We are incredibly grateful for the hospitality we experienced here. This hospitality made our journey much easier, and we are very happy to have met such people. We hope to be able to repay them someday.

Today is our last day in New Zealand, and we have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, we are very sad to leave New Zealand, as we had an unforgettable time there. On the other hand, we are looking forward to our family and friends and all the little things that you only really appreciate after 6 months abroad.

Here are a few insights:

- Four walls

- Rolls, pretzels, and bread

- A dry kitchen

We have learned on this journey to appreciate every minute and that you don't need much to be happy.

Furthermore, this time has also taught us how precious nature is, and we want to spend more time outdoors at home.

So... I have to stop now, I don't want to spend our last day in New Zealand sitting in front of the computer.

Our flight is tomorrow to Bali, and unfortunately, there will be no reports from there! After all, we want to have something to tell when we come home.

Thank you very much for always following our blog. We are very much looking forward to seeing you all again soon!

See you soon,

Domi & Isi
