Li River Cruise Guilin Yangshuo

After much back and forth, we decided to take a 4-star boat for the Li River Cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo. Most of the time, people take a 3-star boat, which can accommodate about 130 people. On the 4-star boat, there are only 70 people. Since the cruise is very popular, we are paying a little more for (hopefully) more space and fewer people. What we are getting is practically a boat to ourselves. Whether it's because of the bad weather or the price, in our (lowest) price range, we are sharing the deck with only 4 other people. In the VIP area, there are a few more, but we are no more than 25 people in total. Lucky us! We have read different things about the cruise...

The Li River Cruise takes you through the mystical and almost surreal karst landscape. The hilltops are shrouded in mist, enhancing this impression even more. Despite the shrill sound of the VIP guide's microphone, who constantly takes photos of his guests on the top deck, you feel transported to a different, original world. We have to warm up on the lower decks from time to time, but we really enjoyed the cruise and it was definitely worth it. The cruise leaves me with a deep satisfaction, the shapes and colors of the landscape are moving. After about 3 hours of travel, we arrive in Yangshuo and head to our hotel, which is located outside the city. The windows offer wonderful views of the karst landscape - now it's time to relax in Yangshuo for a few days!
