Lower Antelope Canyon

Pubblicato: 13.08.2019

On the 12th day of our trip, we visited the Lower Antelope Canyon near Page, where we were guided through the narrow rock passage, accessible by steep stairs and ladders, by a member of the Navajo tribe. We almost completed this excursion with just the three of us: After our guide mentioned in passing that spiders, scorpions, and snakes can be photographed but not touched, it took some convincing to get Daniela to come into the canyon;-)...But it was definitely worth it: Down here, as a result of the erosion of the red sandstone, curved forms have formed, which, along with the sunlight shining in, create extraordinary colors and light effects (and no sign of crawling and slithering creatures... Maybe it was also because the looks were mostly directed along the canyon wall upwards...). After we had painstakingly sorted out the best snapshots from the multitude taken that day ;-), we finally treated ourselves to a long-awaited swim in Lake Powell in the evening.
