Hello everyone,
A colleague and his family have returned to Buenos Aires from Germany (escaping the lockdown), and we visited the city and the Ecoparque together. The Ecoparque is the former zoo of Buenos Aires, which was closed because the animals were not well taken care of and the residents complained about the howling of the animals at night. Now it is a nature park with a few simple animals. However, there are still two elephants waiting to be relocated to a large park in Brazil, where they can live freely. (They are currently being prepared for life in the wild and for transportation)
The mural that you see first is located at the former agricultural school, and the black spots on it were added by opponents of meat consumption. This movement is growing here, and the defacement of images and other things that glorify meat consumption is becoming more common.
After visiting the Ecoparque, we went boating on the Lago de Regattas in Palermo...
Behind it is the Hipodromo Argentino de Palermo, where jockeys are currently only training as there are no horse races due to Covid. We then took a Cabify (taxi) back to our car, which was parked further away... we managed to fit in (more or less) :)
