We leave Tadoussac and drive northwest along the Saguenay Fjord to Roberval on the great Lac-Saint-Jean. The 230km long route mainly leads over main roads and through numerous forests. In Canada, one can safely say that because of the many forests, you can't see the country :)
With a short fuel stop, we arrived in Roberval after about 3 hours and drive directly to the hotel. Next to our vehicle, there is only one other car in the huge parking lot. Not much can be happening here. We check in and go to our room. In the guidebook, the town is not mentioned. Great. Wikipedia doesn't say much either, except that it is a city with 10,544 inhabitants and is located on the southwestern shore of the lake. That's it. You can't exactly say that it's buzzing.
In the afternoon, we therefore make use of the hotel's whirlpool. When we return to our room, we notice that it has started to rain and our walk into the 'town' will probably be a bit wet. For the first time, we put on our rain jackets and head out. However, not very far, because we already stop at the next restaurant for dinner. Unfortunately, due to the rain, we can't go any further, but have to return to the hotel. Just a typical travel day. And so we end day 1 in Fall Roberval.
