We arrived in Bangkok at 5 a.m. after a 10-hour flight. So we just saw the sunrise in the taxi. With jet lag, the first thing we did was go to a new park that we discovered by chance. We felt like we were in the Masoala Hall. But you couldn't escape the heat through an exit door. We experienced a temperature difference of 20 degrees on this day of travel.
Afterwards we went to Chatuckak, Bangkok's largest weekend market. There are over 8,000 stands there. You can buy everything from aquarium fish to hedgehogs to the smallest porcelain figures. We took our time and Sonja was already busy buying souvenirs and matching trousers or sargons for the temple visits. They're on the program tomorrow. So stay tuned. Ohhhmm...
Addition to the evening: We drove to the Thai “Times Square”. There are bright billboards, advertisements and neon lights everywhere. In the middle there is a free concert by a Thai band and a few meters behind there is a huge statue that we call the toilet alien 😆
