Life goes on 😄

Hello - from Ansbach. 🙋🏼‍♀️

I'm now back in the shared flat. The move went very well. But more about that later. ☺️

Now I'd like to tell you about my last few days in Munich and show you a few nice pictures of two places I visited. 😍

Starting with the Königssee. It's been a while now. I went there with my roommate on January 18th. She had given me this trip as a birthday present in October. It was really breathtaking with the fog and the little bit of snow that covered the trees and the ground. 🌲 We started with a boat trip to a small peninsula on which there was a small pilgrimage church. We also saw a group of kept deer there. 🦌 After that, we took a gondola up a mountain and had a look at the Königssee from above. At the end, we rounded off the evening with a visit to a restaurant. 🍔

On another weekend, I was out and about in Munich with a friend and we went to see Nymphenburg Palace. 🏯 I'm sure it will look even more beautiful when everything starts to bloom. 🌸🌷

On another day, we went to a concert by Samuel Harfst. He’s a Christian singer. 🎶 Maybe some of you know him.

I got on particularly well with an intern at ProSieben. We often did things together. Among other things, we visited a comedy club where new comedians practiced on us to find out whether their jokes would go down well with the audience or not. 🤣🎤

On the second weekend in February, a friend from Nuremberg visited me in Munich. I went to the Partnachklamm gorge with her. The second trip I would like to tell you about. A place where icicles were hanging from the ceiling at the time we were there. We're talking about a gorge with turquoise water flowing through it. Definitely highly recommended, especially in winter. ❄️ ☃️ For more information about the Partnachklamm gorge, take a look at the information board in the gallery. The next day, we ended the day at Wonder Waffle in Munich city center. 🧇

Where will we go next as a day trip? I’d be very grateful for any recommendations! 🙏🏻 I've already covered the south of Bavaria pretty well. Maybe the other south of Germany will be next? Baden-Württemberg certainly has more to offer than the Trieberg Waterfalls, where I was in spring 2023.

Shortly afterwards, I was actually ill for a few days. Starting with nausea and stomach cramps. 🤢🤒 Had I caught a virus? Or had I just eaten something wrong? I’ll spare you any more details, but I haven’t had this kind of illness for a long time. I usually have the occasional cough and/or cold. 🤧

But I quickly got fit again anyway. That was a good thing because I wanted to start packing the following weekend. I wanted to move the following week. As you can see, we’re now in the middle of February. At the beginning of the week, I baked a cake with an intern for my farewell at ProSieben. Thanks again for that, because without you I wouldn’t have had the motivation to bake. 😅🧑🏻‍🍳 I even received a small farewell gift from ProSieben. A thank you card and a small notebook with a pen. Probably because I want to become a journalist or a reporter? Probably yes. I was allowed to finish my internship with my rotation in the Galileo editorial office, which fell on my last day, February 19, 2025.

And yes, crazy. Because on 02/20/2025, one day later, I moved. I had already prepared everything so that it only had to be transported to Ansbach. My neighbor from Ansbach helped me. Thanks again for helping me. 🙏🏻Due to his large car, I was able to drive back with my - then quite empty - car in a relaxed manner. In Ansbach it looked correspondingly chaotic. See for yourself with a photo in the gallery. 🙈

As my parents have been living in Africa since the beginning of the year and I had to get all my stuff out of my parents' house because my brother and his little family are now living there, I had already taken some things back to Ansbach with me. Firstly, my gray carpet from my childhood bedroom. It’s now also in our living room. I think it fits in quite well there. I’m also slowly starting to cook again. In Munich, I didn’t have the time or inclination to cook much in the small kitchen. 🥘 I never actually watch it, but I had to watch it anyway because I was there for a recording. I’m talking about Germany’s Next Top Model. And indeed… you can see the one intern and me in a close-up during the show. I was an extra on another shoot for ‘Achtung Abzocke’ and you can also see me in the background. Even if it’s slightly blurred, anyone who knows me could identify me. 😂

Since I still had some time after the move until university starts again, I thought it would be nice to visit my siblings in North Rhine-Westphalia again. Above all, I wanted to look after my sister and spend some time with her, as she has now moved out of our parents' house and is staying with friends. It was a very mixed weekend. 🙃 We made sushi together and also went to her apartment, which she would like to move into soon.

Just one day later, we had to do something that was difficult for both of us. One of their guinea pigs wasn’t feeling very well and we had to go to the vet. There we were told that it didn’t look good and it would be better to have the animal put to sleep. We both had the same intuition and knew what to do. I myself know how hard this is as I had guinea pigs myself from age 6-18 and have had to let a few guinea pigs go. My sister had also experienced these times, but until then I had usually been more attached to these animals than she was, because I had built up a stronger bond than she had. But from then on, she had two guinea pigs of her own that she looked after and I was more or less out of the picture. It really hurt me to see her sad and so I was all the happier to be by her side. 🥺😢

But that wasn’t enough, because a perfectly healthy guinea pig was waiting at home and couldn’t be left alone. There were only two options. Get a new one or give the other one into good hands. It was clear to my sister that, given her current situation, it would be better to make a cut with the guinea pigs for the time being. So she scoured the internet for options for a home. Perhaps a rescue center was an option? She was actually able to find an agent in Dortmund who had a family whose male guinea pig had also died. They were looking for a new pet. 🐹

So on Saturday we paid a visit to Dortmund. I didn’t really like the agent herself and I had some reservations, but when we met the family we had a good feeling and this was confirmed with lots of photos of my sister’s guinea pig happily munching away. The two guinea pigs also harmonized well with each other. It was also a rather emotional day because we still had to say goodbye to the animal that had lived with us for 5 years. 😔

On the next day we did something nice. We went to the Holland Markt in Schwerte with my brother, my sister-in-law and my niece. Afterwards, we went to eat together at the R-Cafe in Letmathe. 🍕🍔 I spent the rest of the days at home with my brother and his family and worked hard on my practical report and my presentation, which I have to give next week. 👩🏼‍🏫Before I drove back to Ansbach yesterday, my sister-in-law, my niece and I went out for breakfast. What a lovely end to the day... 🥐☕️

Tomorrow is my first day back at work at my old job, the photo store in the city. I’m excited to see what awaits me. University starts again on March 17, so I can prepare myself for that. I can’t tell whether it will be a stressful semester or not. In any case, it will be full because I have to make up an exam, which I don’t really feel like doing. But well, nobody’s asking about that. It’s a must and I’m really going to try to rock the semester. Just like I’ve done for the most part in the past. 😄

In the next blog entry, I’m sure I’ll know more about the exams I have to take and what’s in store for me. 6th semester - that’s already so close to the finish line and whenever I think about past times, I get a little scared at how fast it’s going. 🕞
