Noteworthy:
On the way back from San Diego to Los Angeles (or Santa Clarita), we visited the remarkable Mission San Juan Capistrano. It was destroyed in an earthquake in 1812 and subsequently partially rebuilt. The indigenous population was converted to Christianity in the mission. The inclination for missionary work is gaining relevance again in Switzerland: the freedom bell ringers could hold their next demo here for a change.
We consciously chose Santa Clarita (in the north of Los Angeles) as our last stop in California: the amusement park 'Six Flags Magic Mountain' is located here. Roller coaster enthusiasts and adrenaline junkies are fully catered for here; the magic mountain is home to almost exclusively extreme roller coasters.
When we visited the park, there were almost no people; there were no waiting times for any of the rides (which I wouldn't have cared about anyway). I'm quite proud of myself: I lasted the first four hours. Sylvia had more power there, but that also left certain marks in the form of blue thighs and a torn earlobe.
On Fridays, we obtained the necessary documents for the next stage of the journey (fortunately, the required Covid tests also came back negative).
We reluctantly returned 'our' Camaro. In total, we covered 8,557 kilometers together in the last 50 days. The only disadvantage of a Camaro is the behavior of other drivers. They regularly want to prove that their car is faster (better?). However, we gladly let them believe that.
On Saturday, we will fly to the South Seas (Tahiti). However, the anticipation is clouded by the fact that the landlady of the accommodation notified us at short notice that she canceled the booking. And this, after we had already transferred part of the costs in advance. However, we have already intervened with booking.com and asked the landlady for a statement by email. A response has been promised to us for Saturday afternoon. However, we will already be on the plane by then. So we don't know if we will have a bed to sleep in on Saturday evening after our arrival in Tahiti (at 8:30 pm). Another case for Denis? We'll see...
