San Francisco shows itself from its most beautiful side, lots of sun at temperatures above 23 degrees. In order to be able to discover as much of the city itself as possible, we grabbed a bike for two days.
'If you're going to San Francisco be sure to wear some flowers in your hair.. ' ..
..and walk down Valencia Street. Music, bands, crazy, happy and dancing people everywhere. Can't describe it, have to experience it.
As water rats, we couldn't wait to smell the sea. So in the evening, we went across the city via Golden Gate Park to Ocean beach. 'Brrr', was our first thought. Now we know what everyone meant by the cold and windy San Francisco. But we're not made of sugar, so after a meal, we enjoyed the breathtaking sunset.. see for yourself.
Contrary to all the well-intentioned advice from parents, friends, experienced people, etc., we rode through the pitch-black park around 10 pm, without lights of course. But oh wonder, the actual scare didn't come from a bad gangster, but rather a coyote that suddenly appeared on the road. Following the 'Wooah effect', shortly after came the 'aww effect', a huge raccoon helped itself to the trash can.
05:30 am, jetlag calling, Rahel's in bed, Fabiola isn't interested. 10:00 am, Fabiola has also made it, after a 20-minute ride uphill, there are Acai bowls for breakfast. As bowl lovers, we are fully satisfied here, bowls everywhere, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We like it.
Next up: Golden Gate Bridge. The wind is definitely not on our side today, cursing and shivering, we ride towards the sea and are rewarded. Only slightly overcast, the bridge shows itself in full splendor. After the obligatory photo shoot, we continue to Fisherman's Wharf where we devour our burritos on the beach.
Last but not least: Shopping. Escalation is probably the only applicable word here. 3 hours at Victoria's Secret, $200 poorer, but the princess dream from earlier finally came true. A pink dreamland for every woman. Fabiola's first time at Victoria's Secret.
Today we continue towards Yosemite National Park.. We're coming for cougars and coyotes! :-)
