Trip to Normandy

After a long time without a vacation in France, we set off to Normandy this spring.

The journey stretched over two days because the drive to our first campsite was quite long.

At first, we made good progress and only encountered our first traffic jam near Bremen, which led us to decide to drive on to Belgium and take a break there.

The place we had originally chosen for an overnight stay was full, so we spontaneously diverted to a nature campsite near Kelmis.

It was quite idyllic by a small river, even though a railway bridge was not far away.

After the many hours in the car, we took a walk in the evening.

We passed by an old lime kiln that was as large as a multi-story apartment building.

It once belonged to a German company that was not well received here after the world wars and was expropriated.

The kiln was closed in 1955, but it is still remarkably well preserved.

The path continued over fields and through the woods - overall, a very beautiful area.

The next morning, we continued our journey towards France. There, we drove to near Étretat.

In the small town of Le Tilleul, we set up our place and also took a little walk through the town in the evening.

The next day, we planned to set off from here for a hike along the Alabaster Coast.
