We're doing well in Filadelfia. The food tastes good (as you can see from our increasingly round faces), the work is fun, the people are very kind to us, and slowly but surely, we're learning a few words in Guarani alongside Castilian. On weekends, we go to Estancias and do our actual profession: agriculture. We've gotten used to the ubiquitous cattle, and one or two of us may even be reconsidering our career choices. We really enjoy the freedom here. Especially when it's warm, it's very pleasant to be here. In good company, we don't freeze even at 10 degrees. When the people in the hospital are all taken care of and the cattle are looked after, we sometimes go to a colleague's home group or meet up for shopping and pizza at Manjessi in the neighboring colony. And if things go well for us, we go far out into the Chaco or to indigenous settlements, and we get to know the real Paraguay a little better. We're having a great time and looking forward to the next adventures. Not all the items on our agenda have been checked off yet, so we still have a lot to do. But one thing is already certain for us: We will be back!
So mamas, no worries, we're doing well!
