The day of departure had arrived. Since we had to fly to Mexico City in two separate groups, the Lohse bus packed up first at 7 o'clock and left for the airport half an hour later. We reached our destination around 8 o'clock. While we checked in our luggage and went through security, the Kammel bus also left for the airport at 9 o'clock.
Then, at 10:30, the first Aeromexico flight took off and landed at Mexico City airport about two hours later at 1:20 PM local time. The plane with the Kammel group took off at 12:40 PM and arrived in Mexico around 4 PM.
Until the boarding of the Lufthansa flight to Frankfurt, we had plenty of time, as it didn't start until 8 PM. We spent that time spending the last pesos, sleeping, listening to music, and exploring the airport until we could finally board the plane. The flight went smoothly and we landed in Frankfurt at 2:20 PM local time. Fortunately, all the luggage also made it to Germany, so we loaded up our bus and set off towards Heidenheim. We arrived at Schiller-Gymnasium at 7:40 PM, where we were eagerly awaited by families and friends.
Now these three weeks are already over and time flew by. Without a doubt, we were able to take away special and unique experiences from both Mexico and Guatemala, experiences that we will never forget in our lives. There were adventurous moments, especially in Guatemala next to the Fire Volcano, but that's what makes our trips so exciting and unique.
At this point, a huge thank you goes to our manager Sylvia Lohse, who planned and organized our three-week adventure for over a year. Without you, none of this would have been possible. No matter what situation we found ourselves in and how uncertain we sometimes were about what would happen next, you handled it all! Thank you so much for your great commitment!!!
A big thank you also goes to Hannes Kahlbrecht, our pianist, who performed every concert with us, no matter how unsteady the keyboards or out-of-tune pianos were :)
Thanks also to all the tour guides we had, especially Emilio and Jorge, who accompanied and supported us the whole time and whom we could always turn to.
Many thanks also to Mr. and Mrs. Sandfort, without whose medical advice and treatment we would have been quite lost in some situations!
The last thanks goes to our Thomas Kammel - thank you for mastering every concert with us, no matter how crazy the situations were. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to discover other music and expand our horizons.
Thank you for everything - Muchas gracias!
