The day started a bit depressing as everyone who stayed with us longer at the glacier could go on their heli-hike tour today :( But instead, we were rewarded with a beautiful bus ride through the New Zealand Alps. Plus a little adventure..because Rolex absolutely had to scrape a guardrail and we were worried about the tire the whole way, as there would not have been a way to call anyone on the route..But in the end, everything went well :) Our first stop was at Lake Matheson, where Mt Cook and Mt Tasman reflect on clear weather. After that, we went along several glacier rivers and mountain valleys until we arrived at Lake Wanaka after a cool jump into the Blue Pools. Since I took care of a hostel myself here, I first left the Stray group, but we met shortly afterwards for the sunset cruise. Although it was sunny all afternoon and you could really burn outside at almost 30 degrees, clouds had to come up of course when we were on the water and it even started raining afterwards. I'm just really unlucky ^^ After that, we at least had pizza and free drinks. Tonight, unfortunately, I had to say goodbye to Rolex and many others for now. Tomorrow, a few will catch up again and if it works out, we will celebrate the end together in Queenstown. The whole thing has already taken on a bit of a school trip feeling ^^..But I don't regret choosing the Stray bus at all.
