Tag 131: a day in and around Taipei

Early this morning, I packed my backpack and after breakfast, we headed to Taipei. First, we took the scooter with all my luggage, and then the bus. After about an hour, we finally reached the center of Taipei. There, we stored my backpack in a locker and explored the city a bit. First, we visited a temple that dates back to the colonial era. It was very interesting to have a local explain all the rituals and meanings of such a temple. Afterward, we had lunch at the city's most famous restaurant. Ilian ordered six courses for us. I was so full afterwards. Then we walked to the city hall to get a nice view of the Taipei 101 and to visit one of her friends who works there. After that, we made our way back to the tower, which stands out clearly in the city skyline. I was really excited to ride up this very impressive high-rise building. The view was magnificent and the technical masterpiece with the wind and earthquake dampers was very impressive. This damper weighs 660 tons. After the sun set, we headed back to my backpack and then to the bus station. Unfortunately, after four amazing days, we had to say goodbye. Once we arrived at the airport, everything went back to normal: check-in, security check, and departure. I was really looking forward to the flight because it will be the first time in my life to fly on the A350-900 XWB.
