The morning started a bit cloudy with high cirrus clouds. After yesterday's hike, I don't set my goals too high. After a hearty breakfast, interrupted by a short drizzle, the sun finally comes out shortly before noon. Time to tackle the wellness program.
The sea smiles invitingly. However, it takes some effort to put on my bathing suit and go to the beach and then into the water. And indeed, it's quite chilly. But as a mountaineer accustomed to alpine lakes, I don't show any signs of discomfort and skillfully swim, attracting amazed looks from the beachgoers bundled up in thick down jackets. Afterwards, I warm up in the heated pool. It's really pleasant there.
Refreshed, I lie down on the clean pebble beach with my e-reader and finally finish reading my Tom Clancy book. An e-reader is really a great invention! The day goes by and I look forward to the evening, which I want to spend in the town of Krk.
Shortly after 6:00 PM, the sun sets. I stroll through the harbor in search of some photo opportunities. The boats anchored in the harbor and the illuminated streets offer plenty of material.
In between, I enjoy a grilled sea bream with chard and potatoes at a small restaurant. Thanks to the attentive waiter, who expertly fillets the fish right at the table, I can fully concentrate on my meal. And - it tastes delicious. An 'on the house' schnapps rounds off the meal.
Meanwhile, it's really chilly in the windy streets, so I head back to my cozy camper van. There, a dessert awaits me: one of the fabulous Kremsniten cakes. Yum! It's accompanied by a cool blackberry wine.
By the way, today I learned that there are actually women who make Nutella sandwiches for their husbands.
