Day 38 - A Pena to Logoso

We want to leave at 7:30 a.m. so that it won't be as late as yesterday. After breakfast, we actually manage to leave at 8:30 a.m.
The day summed up in three words: ups and downs.
We are between two layers of clouds, which allows for a very beautiful view from the hostel and for the first few hours. It's always uphill and downhill, then uphill again before finally going downhill again. Our legs are really put to the test for hours today.
At the highest point today, we have beautiful views. As we have all day, over the mountains, as we mainly walk across fields on the plateau, but here we also see a beautiful lake. The landscape today really enhances the monotonous route, over field paths and occasionally over the road.
In Ponte Olveira it's time to say goodbye again. Tom stays here and does shorter stages to Finisterre. There are still very few opportunities to take breaks in bars, so we drink a coffee together as we say goodbye. The timing is perfect, as the Galician rain is showing up again today, but this time it's not quite as bad for us.
At this point, I would like to express my greatest respect to Tom for lugging his accordion along with his backpack the entire way and for sweetening the evenings for many, many pilgrims with great music.
From here the path became picturesque. Past a small river, we went up a steep stretch again, and then along the gorge between the mountains we had picturesque views, especially of the rushing river in the valley. It gave us the feeling of hiking through a gorge. Before we finally saw the hostel, we had to climb another steep stretch.
I spend the night in the small mountain village of Logoso in the local hostel.
Tomorrow morning I'll be heading to the next mountain top. A steep climb awaits and as it will also be the highest point of tomorrow's stage, I'm hoping to see the sea for the first time from here. I'll definitely reach the sea after another 30km in Muxia, tomorrow's destination.
